Currently, we are seeking a talented Compliance Officer to join our team as one of our founding members. In this pivotal role, you will play a central part in establishing and refining our fund's regulatory compliance framework, investor KYC processes and surveilence programs. Position Summary

The successful candidate will be one of the founding members of the team, reporting directly to OSV's Founder & CEO. You will play a key role in launching OSV's first fund, defining our internal compliance framework from the ground up, and working closely with external consultants and legal teams to ensure our submission for FCA authorisation goes smoothly.

We are offering a sizable equity package for the right candidate who we envision progressing into a leadership position, heading compliance across the entire business and helping to ensure best practices are implemented to serve our investors across all funds launched by OSV.

About the role

  • Working with our CEO and Fund Ops Manager, as well as external consultants, you will develop and maintain the FCA regulatory framework for OSV.
  • Provide legal and adminstrative support to the business in legal and compliance related work.
  • Handle FCA regulatory filings and returns, as well as any US regulatory work related to our UK entities.
  • Represent the business and interact with examiners/auditors during all internal and external audits or regulatory examinations.
  • Identify enhancements to the firm's compliance measures, working together with the CEO to incoporate improvements into the company roadmap.
  • Support on all legal documentation review and drafting for fund related paperwork.
  • Ensure AML/KYC best practice is followed at all times, and assist in handling all fund subscription requests from investors.
  • You will assist the business in pursuing ISO 27001 certification, and any other certifications as may be required.
  • You will ensure the accurate maintenance of investors' data, AML details and records in line with FCA and GDPR standards.
  • Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Engineering team to support the solutionization of processes and the integration of compliance measures into software systems, having a meaningful say in how our in-house tools take shape.

About you

Essential:

  • Above all, you possess a passion for your role and are committed to building successful relationships through teamwork and high standards of service.
  • Ideally you will have at least 5 years of experience acting as a compliance generalist within an asset manager, hedge fund or trading firm.
  • You have an indepth understanding of applicable rules, regulations and compliance processes for financial services firms, including knowledge of the FCA rules and handbook.
  • Your regulatory background is in UK and European markets, and you've had some exposure to MiFID reporting requirements.
  • Your operational focus is efficiency, emphasizing automation and scalablility where possible.
  • You possess excellent communication skills and a high level of discretion when handling sensitive information.

Desirable:

  • It would be advantageous to have experience compiling and submitting regulatory reports and filings.
  • Familiarity with limited partnership and shareholder agreements, as well as other fund-related legal documents, is beneficial.
  • A strong understanding of surveilence requirements, ideally with exposure to money market portfolios.
  • Experience in implementing compliance projects would be a huge benefit.
